about Emmylou
Emmylou has been in practice for 24 years as a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist specializing in medical nutrition therapy for diabetes, cancer, heart disease, geriatric nutrition, wound healing, digestive diseases, kidney disease, athlete nutrition and a non-diet approach to weight management. She specializes in difficult digestive disease cases such as IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome), celiac, Crohns, Ulcerative Colitis, reflux, gastric bypass and people requiring tube feeding.
Emmylou has a passion for nutrition and health and believes there is not a one-size-fits-all approach to helping clients meet their goals. Each person has a unique and important set of challenges that she loves to tackle with positive, evidence based science guidelines.
Emmylou enjoys running, lifting weights, snow skiing and sending Instagram reels to her family. She loves working with teenagers in her church youth group. She has coached numerous ages of kids in several sports-volleyball being her favorite. She also loves to cook and bring together simple healthy meals. She has experienced many of the same challenges her clients encounter so is able to relate and motivate! She has served on the local dietitian board for several years (Greater Spokane Dietetic Association) and the Washington State Nutrition Academy board in various volunteer positions.
